What types of utility inspections do you perform?
We perform CCTV sewer line inspections, pressure testing for water mains, mandrel testing for pipe deflection, vacuum testing for manholes, smoke testing for infiltration/inflow detection, and visual inspections of all underground utility infrastructure.
What is CCTV pipe inspection?
CCTV pipe inspection uses a remote-controlled camera system inserted into sewer or storm pipes to visually inspect interior conditions. It identifies cracks, root intrusion, blockages, joint separations, and other defects without excavation. We are NASSCO-certified for pipeline assessment.
How often should utility infrastructure be inspected?
Municipal guidelines typically recommend CCTV inspection of sewer lines every 5-7 years, annual visual inspections of manholes and lift stations, and pressure testing of water mains after installation and any repairs. Older systems may require more frequent inspections.
What is a mandrel test for sewer pipes?
A mandrel test checks the roundness and deflection of flexible sewer pipes (typically PVC) by pulling a rigid, cylinder-shaped device through the pipe. If the mandrel passes through without getting stuck, the pipe meets deflection standards — typically less than 5% for new installations.
